It’s plant from South Africa, around the seacoast of the Indian
Ocean, where it’s especially abundant in Sri Lanka, to the Southeast Asian Archipelago, as well as from southern
Japan to south-eastern Australia, northern New Zealand, And as far east as Fiji and Samoa. The species has also been
introduced to Hawaii and Florida.
In Hawaii, slush cranks are colloquially known as Samoan cranks, as they were firstly imported from American Samoa.
As these cranks are known for their robust size and thick meat content, they’ve been greatly sought after over the
times. As a result of overcrabbing, original government sweats have confined harvesting of cranks lower than 6
elevation ( range across back) and the crop ladies of any size is illegal.
Ecology
A study on tidal apartments in Deception Bay in Queensland plant juvenile cranks (20 – 99 mm or0.8 –3.9 in carapace
range) were resident in the mangrove zone, remaining there during low drift, while subadults (100 – 149 mm or3.9 –5.9
in) migrated into the intertidal zone to feed at high drift and retreated to subtidal waters at low drift.
Grown-ups (150 mm or5.9 in and larger) were caught substantially below the low- drift mark, with small figures captured
in the intertidal zone at high drift.
These cranks are largely cannibalistic in nature; when cranks suffer molting, other hard- shelled bones occasionally
attack the molting cranks and devour them. The ladies can give birth to a million seed, which can grow up to3.5 kg (7.7
lb) in size and have a shell range up to 24 cm (9.4 in) wide.

___________________________________________________________
These crabs are available for export from Thailand via Legend Associates co.ltd.
you can call us at the number 0000000

Live Mud Crabs Mud crab may refer to any crab that lives in or near mud, such as: Scylla serrata Scylla tranquebarica Scylla paramamosain Scylla olivacea Members of the family Panopeidae, such as Panopeus herbstii Members of the family Xanthidae Helice crassa, the tunnelling mud crab The natural range ofS. serrata […]
